That all depends on where the wound is and what kind of dressing is necessary.
For example, if it is just a simple thing that requires a bandaid, you can make it fun by buying the colorful bandaids. Have the toddler put a bandaid on you so that they can see that it's no big deal. Then put it on them.
If all else fails, do it while they are sleeping.
Now, your question doesn't give us a clue as to how involved this dressing or this wound is...so it's hard to say.
Using peroxide to clean the wound will not make the wound sting like some other things will. However, keep in mind that you need to rinse the peroxide OFF of the skin. Peroxide can burn away the skin if it's left on.
I hope this helps...and if you need to, e-mail me so that we can discuss it further.
Good luck.

Well you clean it with antiseptic such as hydrogen peroxide , benetine spray or with clean water if that's all you have. I generally put a nice thick layer of antibacterial cream on it and then put a bandaid on the area. If the wound is more than 2 inches long or has a depth of of 1/8th of an inch or more then you have to take them to the doctor or emergency room to evaluate it.
