I am happy as a Christian. I am glad you are happy with your life. It seems that so many people aren't content these days.

It stems from Christianity's anti-humanistic tenets... that because you're such a miserable sinner from birth, you need Jesus to have salvation from your state. They believe everyone who is not Christian suffers from this misery... but on the other hand, I've seen plenty of Christians who will, in the next breath, tell me that I'd rather "live in my sin", etc.; more parroted tautology.
This is what con artists do... they try to sell you a product to heal an ailment you don't really have by insisting that your ailment can't be cured by any other means.
I really see no difference between an evangelizer/proselytizer and a con artist.

Im not an atheist, and it chaps my hide that christians assume I am, just because i dont approve of thier hateful barbaric religion. Ive reasearched christianity well, from the time constantine burned, raped and pillaged Pagans (which i am Pagan) and thier statues and temples, to the time of the Inquisition, Crusades, Witchtrials, and the Holocaust, all of which were done by devout christians, to the lone wolf protestants that acted alone, like Jeff Dahmer and Jim Jones, to the acts of Charles manson, Vlad the Impaler, Oliver Cromwell, and the death of my people the Cherokee, Navajo and Comanche,
Lets not forget the degradation of women and blacks either........ It also chaps my hide that christians instead of taking blame for what they did wrong, blame Atheists and Pagans as the culprit, because no, its never the christians that do anything wrong.

The answer can be applied to anyone who answers that way:
They believe that their way is the only way to be happy. Anyone who believes differently is unhappy, whether they know it or not. Even if the person is content, lives a full life, has a spouse, 3 children, pets, loving family, a few great friends and an over all feeling of life is great; since they don't believe in (or believe in) God there is no way they can be truly happy.

I believe as a Christian we feel the need to tell you about Christ and what He does for us, in hopes that you will see the Truth as we see it. But I understand that everyone holds on to their own truth. And while I feel the truth for me is Jesus Christ, the truth to you might be more about how much money you can make or whatever. I do not have grudges against anyone who decides against Jesus that is your right, it is your life. But if you ever need peace in your life that you can't find elsewhere Jesus is the answer. He gives the peace that passes understanding. I just wish that more Christians would come to the understanding that God has hardened your hearts for a reason, He uses Atheist like you to strengthen us in our relationship to Him. But has given us the job of telling people about him. but that is also to be done with love not anger and hate. His final command to us was to love your neighbor as yourself, how do we do that when we preach that all you do is wrong I believe that we are just to tell you about Jesus and let you form your own opinion on it. God is about love, the only place in the Bible where he was angry with people was is the temple yelling at people about using His fathers house to make money. He did not try to convince people by belittling them. I am with Him I love you no matter what you think is right or wrong He also said hate the sin but love the sinner.

Religion was created by man for their own comfort of belonging to a group that appears to think the way they do. It is like a club.
They do not understand that some people do not have that need as they are very secure, happy and content just leading their own lives and minding their own business without imposing their ideas on others.
In the United States, we have complete freedom of thought.

I am am Christian, and i don't assume anything like that. You are generalizing. Those answers are probably just from some of the more religious and probably old-fashioned Christians who believe that you must be christian to be happy. This is a belief which i do not share. I have friends of several religions (one of whom is an atheist) who are all happy and content.

Actually, that's generalizing. I never said I thought Atheists were unhappy or miserable or sad, though you do sound angry.
And I resent your implication that I'm miserable because I'm a Christian. I'll let you know that before I became a confirmed Catholic, I was miserable and suicidal. Christ helped pull me from that, something no medicine or doctor had done (so, get that through, I didn't rely soully on religion. I tried science first). I have never been happier then I am today through Christ. It's nice knowing that I"m not alone, that someone loves me even when I don't love myself, that I am forgiven for what I did when I was depressed.

It is offensive for them to think their way is the only way to happiness.
I also resent the fact many of them say that I still believe in God, I'm just angry with him or I hate him, hence my atheism. To all those people, I can assure you I'm not angry with god nor do I hate him. In the same way am I not angry with Zeus, Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Boogeyman under your bed. Because I don't believe any of them exist.
And I have also read the bible. And I have understood it. In fact, I probably understood it better than a fair few christians, because I wasn't reading it through rose-tinted spectacles

you rather enhance an enticing component. and that i might ought to declare that it is by using the fact lots of Christians are spoke of to have self belief that they might locate the (confident THE, as contained in the only one) contained in the Bible and that if we quote the Bible, others will hear and by surprise have self belief. whilst it would desire to specially situations be the case that somebody believes after listening to a verse or element of the Bible, it not often occurs. And the perception that the only solutions we desire may be stumbled on contained in the Bible is...properly, absurd to me. and that i agree, in maximum situations that's the incorrect strategies-set. yet while the guy has an open strategies approximately it and notice Christianity as an determination (so this individual isn't an atheist, yet extra alongside the lines of agnostic) they may be moved by way of the words. yet for the hardcore atheist, it is my opinion that the only thank you to sway them (in maximum situations, because of the fact we could face it, there are constantly exceptions) is with good judgment and reasoning besides as technological awareness. good question. i like how your questions, in assessment to lots of on right here, actually challenge me to think of.

This is my favorite: "I can promise you that you do not.."
so? Being Christian makes you Clairvoyant? NO, wait, that's a sin... then how do they know how you feel?? Ahh, my brain hurts!
I don't know? Why do the radical muslims think that Westerns are so evil? Why did Hitler think Jews were the cause of all Germany's problems? Why were the Romans so afraid of Jesus that they had to execute him to begin with?
The simple answer is hate. People hate what they don't understand. Which is not Jesus' message, btw. People are stupid...
You have every right to feel offended and I'm sorry that people take what I find sacred and use it and twist it into something they use to jusify hate, judgement, and bigotry. I'm truly sorry.
