I'm trying to locate an adopted person, i need to find out thier name after they were adopted, i have thier nhs number is there any way i can use it to trace them?

don't know might cross the confidentiality boundaries??

I work for the NHS and we arent supposed to abuse any information we have on patients as its a serious breach of confidentiality. Unless you have access to the hospital database (which you need a password for anyway) then i dont see how you can do this. The information you get from these numbers can only be accessed by health professionals.

not sure you can do that as it may be agianst the law! if they related to you in some way there are channels you can go thru to find out, like the place who did the adoption like solicitor or lawyer etc, or internet search see what turns up get some advice first thou

yes....you can use that....that's the same method the government use when they need to trace someone, or even debt collectors etc...as long as you have that number then there's a very good chance you'll find them, that number will more than likely direct you to their front door, good luck with your search

Possibly but it may be protected data.You would need permission for the imformation to be released.
