If it was really that moral, why did people in it's name kill so many innocent people on September 11th? Why did Mohammad sell an entire tribe of Jews into slavery? Two days ago a suicide bomber killed 100 innocent fellow muslims in Iraq. Does that sound like a comprehensive guide to morality?

Imposing morality on people would be an impossible task at this point. What we need is an honorable society. One that respects the law and other people. An honorable person understands morality. People who outwardly try to be moral are pretty much targets these days. Many people seem to feel they have finally earned the right to be immoral. They really look at it as a right they have earned rather than a personal decision they have made. They wish to be free of the judgment of others so they attack those who cause them to think about the error of their ways. They don't understand that without morals there can be no civil society and we are all reduced to animals. I think that is why so many seem to feel evolution helps them to prove they have a natural bent towards immorality. Animals have no morals, just instincts while people are the only living beings with the ability to reason and know right from wrong. They just don't want to be bothered with that anymore. I am older and I've watched our society rot from the inside out. While it was never even close to perfect, there did seem to appear to be some reward in being kind and responsible for their actions. Respect and manners were seen as the norm rather than sucking up. The world is upside down.

Most of the answers are containing totally wrong ideas. People who claimed that they were once Muslims and left it tell big lies as in some comments made here. Their aim is to wipe Islam out violate it by insulting. I can't understand why people are very aggresive while talking about Islamm. Can't those who don't believe in Islam criticize Islam politely and and not using a humiliating language? Of course, you can't, because, you don not know anything about it. You were just imposed some doctrines/teachings by some people and taught how you would fight against Islam and its believers!
There is another way that some use to humiliate Islam: showing just a bad example that Islam doesn't approve/confirm or does forbid and associating that bad event/example with Islam/Islamical rules. This is a very easy and nonsense way to use, I think. If you do that, I can do that, too. For instance, a few days ago, I read in cnn.com that a Christian violated a small aged girl in the park in usa. So, I can say that: "Don't you see what believers of Christianity did! Here is the real face of Christianity! bla bla bla... But this is not a right approach and this is not our way.
To speak about the question, yes Islam is fulled with rules/recommendations that urge people to be honest with all people. Because honesty is one of the core values of this faith. If you want to mention the nature of the Islam, you have to speak of honesty, loyality and equality, unity and oneness.

Islam doesn't tell people to kill in the name of religion, only in self-defense.
Islam doesn't say hate everyone except Muslims, but to respect them as human beings who have a right to make choices.
Islam doesn't encourage violence and bloodshed to gain personal success.
Whatever fanatics may display as the true Islam, it is not 100% correct.
Why does the same question reoccur so many times? Learn Islam and then try and lay accusations.

Does it teach you to think freely or to question? Or does it teach you to spout regurgitated platitudes and gibberish? Are you saying you have to be Islamic to be truly honest. Or that sharia is required. I would sooner put myself in the hands and at the mercy of Athiests before i accepted your prophets tender mercies and moral values.

I don't believe honor killings, beheadings, incitement of violence etc to be moral values. The millions of Muslims who do this ( know not all do) but the millions who do all say that it is taught in the Koran

If that were true, then we'd see the true believers standing up and condemning the Islamic extremists who started the current mess going. Say what you will about the West, the Islamic extremists started it.

I don't call it honesty when lying is completely allowable if the one being lied to is an "infidel".
