You wont *turn* anything. You either are pale or you're not. The only thing black hair will do is maybe make you look a little washed out....IF you have pale skin to begin with. If you're unsure I'd buy a cheap black wig somewhere and see how you think you look with black hair. Of course if you dye your hair black and dont like it, you can buy dye remover and strip the color out of your hair but thats very damaging to your hair.

If anything, you might want to consider going gradually. Blonde to black is a drastic change. maybe you should consider going light brown.....and then darker brown.....and darker, and darker.. until you've reached the level you're after..over a few months, not a few hours. This way it wont be such a huge shock to you or anyone else. Plus darker dye seems to last longer..and black seems to last forever...if you go a few shades darker now and dont like the way it looks, you can go back to blonde and just be glad you didnt go straight to black hair.

First of all, if you're blonde and you want to colour your hair black, get it done at a hairdressers because otherwise, you risk your hair fading from black to a washed out grey colour and looking dull and flat.

Secondly, most people who have answered before are right. You dont "turn" pale. it depends on your skin tone. If you have darker or tanned skin it won't look pale, where as if you don't get too much sun you might look pale.

Third: think about this.. if you do colour it black, and you hate it, its going to be hard to get it back to your natural colour. If you colour it black with colour from the supermarket or chemist, you're going to have an even harder time getting the black out.

I wanted to do that in my teens, so mom called a few salons for me and was told that if I didn't like it, even having the color stripped by a professional wouldn't give me my natural shade back; it would be tinted until it grew out. Seeing as I have always liked wearing my hair long (past my butt), growing it out and chopping it off wasn't an option.

I see that Jess H managed to get all the black dye stripped out of her hair, with less than desirable results; so you should probably rethink going so dark.

I am a natural blond and i dyed my hair black last year I am already pale but it made me look about 10 shades paler! I also looked really sick, after about 10 packets of bleech later finally I got my blond hair back but it was broken and frizzy and gross.

You are getting good advice here, and you have a good question. Yes... you will look very pail if you die your hair black. You should never go more than three shades lighter or darker than your natural color. This is not only to keep your hair color looking natural, it also keeps it from turning purple and green and such when you color it.

yes it would completely wash you out. You could try tanning if you are really set on doing this. I wouldnt recommend it though because if you hate it, black is really hard to get out and you could end up frying it trying.

You won't turn pale. You will look pale.

No, but if you are pale, don't tan. It will put you at risk for skin cancer and wrinkles.
