firstly, you should start off slowly. don't jump right into it because you'll get sore and then won't be able to work out for a little while. be sure to incorporate some good cardio (such as running or aerobics into your workout) along with some light muscle training.

I would strongly recommend hiring a personal trainer to help an obese woman craft the most effective workout for that individual. It is a good investment because the trainer can teach proper techniques. Otherwise using bad form can result in stress on ligaments and tendons and other injuries. Trainers also have more knowledge about the variety of exercises out there so they can provide a well-rounded routine.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

I agree with answer one. Curves is a great place to start, with low-impact machines and camaraderie.

And I must recommend that you start a regimen of low fat, low carb, high protein, high fiber diet change. Don't miss meals, have snacks in between and drink copius amounts of non-carbonated water.

I applaud your wanting to change to a more healthier lifestyle. I wish you success, dear one!
