My husband lost a friend but gained a wife because he dated someone his friend wanted. Frankly, the friend wasn't my type. He was a likeable guy but simply not my type. That isn't something I can help. Ultimately, he was too immature to accept the fact that we were meant to be together. Instead of maintaining a friendship with both of us, he went off in a huff over some weird sort of "dibs" he called on me. Silly, you can't call "dibs" on another human being!

Likewise, if your friend is a true friend, she'll understand that you care about each other and support the fact that this relationship is good for you both. If it didn't work out for her then there was no doubt a reason and her Mr. Right is somewhere else.

Looking back now, the people I dated that it "didn't work out" with were a learning experience. It didn't work because it wasn't a good fit. Ultimately, the people I dumped or that dumped me, I think we did each other a favor! I certainly wouldn't hold a grudge if a friend ever dated one of them!

People who make friends with others don't necessarily have to be in a long term relationship with committments. If you and your gal pal both like this guy as a friend there is nothing wrong with it. However, once a guy and a woman make committments to each other, both should keep their bond intact by not dating any other. I don't know how long you and your gal pal have known the guy. Watch for any signs of sexual conduct he may have for the both of you. Some guys that I knew have taken advantage of having two gal pals and were having sex with both of them. I hope I made my point.

hey!
i cant say for sure, because i dont know ur friend maggie. it really depends on how much she still cares about him, and how sensitive she is. she sounds like a good friend, so remember that even if she says itz fine- it may end up hurting her anyway, just without showing it.
also, i think you should consider this... how much do you like this guy? you have to remember that dating a guy- it may last a while, but really probably not forever, and we all know it.but friends- they are for life.
gd luck :)
