They're no worse than any Holiday Inn. You're coming from the UK and staying in Middleborough? It begs the question, why? Unless you have relatives in the immediate area, I'd suggest somewhere more attractive. There isn't a whole lot to do in that neck of the woods. 495 is right there but that's hardly a selling point.

Never been to the Merced one, but the Holiday Inn Expresses are decent. They have a free breakfast which is satisfactory, but nothing great, and clean rooms. They are good for business travelers and usually provide good service and have decent amenities. If you are going on a romantic vacation, it's not the best place, but if you are looking for a basic, clean place to sleep with good amenities, it should be worthwhile.

No ops about the one Middleboro, but have stayed at other HI X Hotels and they were all decent.

Holiday Inn Express is a very good chain. You can count on a clean comfortable room. They have a good continental breakfast too.

i prefer them to travelodge or travel inn's cheap and you dont have to pay for breakfast as long as your not fussy about sausage and egg coz it is continental brekkie
