Well, I hadn't really noticed. But my experience has been that when people try to trash me, personally, it's because they are jealous of my successes. I suspect that the same is true of the pimple brains that trash the U.S.

Firstly, Yahoo!Answers is an international website. At the bottom of the page you can see flags for different versions of Y!A dedicated to various countries. What gets asked on the English-speaking ones appears on the American version too, so what is written is not necessarily intended to be in Americans' faces.
Secondly, there is a lot to criticize about the U.S., it is not above criticism no matter what you think. It is sad to see some Americans think of all criticism as "talking trash" when there are actually valid reasons behind much of it (although of course some of it, depending on the content and the way it's put forward, really is "talking trash"). The U.S. have their good and bad sides and it shouldn't be a problem to talk about both.
Thirdly, freedom of speech. That means freedom of speech for everyone, not just those you like listening to. You are free to ignore things you don't want to hear/read, but you are not free to take away other people's freedom of speech.

It’s an open media for all to voice opinions almost about anything and it’s not only the US who get hammering it involves all sorts. U r under the impression that it’s only the ppl from other countries who criticize the US but u r very wrong. Like anything else there are supporters to the US as well as who opposes so just chill out and enjoy the lesson u may learn from this. Hearing –ve staff is not necessarily a bad thing at least in that way u know what ur enemies are up to as well as leaves a room for improvement.

Interesting. Do you keep all your opinions to yourself? Do you never point it out if you find fault in others?
Of course, bashing and trashing is insulting and bad style. But criticizing in general should be allowed, don't you think? If you did not know, Yahoo Answers is an international site with people from all over the world participating, in many languages. I think that this is a big asset to YA.
If I may offer a suggestion: Ignore the bashers, but listen to the contributors who offer serious criticism. There is nothing wrong with a variety of opinions.

I don't think you're being fair here talking about people from outside USA. People who criticize USA because of the bad things and negative image US government has done and given the world. After all USA is not a flawless country, is it? And also there IS such a thing called "freedom of speech", huh? If you don't like what you read, then just find things you like to read.

I think that they are actually jealous of the states due to their inferior political status, but they refuse to admit it. So, they go online to insult the states with little worry as to being caught or brought to court. But there are things that the US are weak at as well. No country is without it's flaws.

Well I have wondered that as well. Also they come to America and then have the gall to make smart a** comments. Well my attitude is, well if you don't like it LEAVE. I do not have any issues with people coming here from other countries to make a better life for themselves, but if you are here to run your mouth and make comments about Americans and America, LEAVE

Who cares - there are things about the States that suck. There are things that are great. People should be able to talk about both. That's what it's all about.

Some people are chronic complainer. No matter where they are. I'm just glad I don't have to be around them.
