If you live in the USA or UK or Canada you could change your first name to Sunny if you're female or Sonny if you're male. Those would be great "nicknames" for locations out of the Subcontinent.
There is an English name of "Verna" that is used by females.
So if you are female you could become Sunny Verna!

An American would probably pronounce Sunit as SUN-it.
If you are trying to spell your name so Americans will pronounce it correctly, then Girish Sharma's suggestion to change the spelling to "Suneet" is good.
