GIVE 100% EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT TO THE PEOPLE.

The community consists of a group of people. May be they are people living at one locality or may be people talking a common language or sharing common culture etc...Therefore the answer depends on the type of community the questioner is willing to know.

Generally speaking a community life underlines the need for giving enough consideration to others. Their well being is your well being. In their happiness lies your happiness should be the principle that you follow. There will be umpteen numbers of occasions when a neighbor of yours is need of your help. May be for a medical emergency. If you take care of him at that point of time he will become a perennial source of happiness for you.

Another important point what I wish to mention is that we should treat our fellow human beings as equal irrespective of their race, religion, cast, creed, color etc. All are born equal. It is only the opportunities and environment that make a man good or bad.

If you are young you should show readiness to help elders, sick and the infirm whenever you have an occasion.

Now days human Values are a causality .May be teaching a bit of human values in schools and colleges will bring the desired change.

Human relations are another important aspect of community life. One will have many likes and dislikes. That should not be imposed on others.

Last but the most important thing in a community life is COMPASSION. One should be compassionate to others.

These are general points that would go a long way in improving community life.

Stop looking upon your fellows in the community as "prey", for starters.
If your motivation in interacting with those around you is profit, then you must continually prey upon your neighbors, and they, in turn, must either be prey or rival predator. this does not make for a congenial social system.
If, however, you regard your fellow citizens as "comrades" or "compatriots" then cooperation is possible, affection, and even love.
Unfortunately, this happy state of affairs is impossible where the basic necessities of life are unavailable to a significant percentage of your neighbors, who then will be driven to regard you as possible prey.
Warning: Social commentary for next four paragraphs.
In the USA, there is no general lack of the basic necessities of life. While there is COMPARITIVE poverty, even the poorest American has access (even encouraged access) to food, shelter, warmth, entertainment, education, health care, transportation that would have made our ancestors even 50 years ago drool with envy, and yet, there is STILL poverty in America.
As Isa Ben Josef (that crucified rabbi of a couple of millennia ago) noted, "the poor will always be with us." And in America, the Powers That Be realized sometime in the mid-20th Century (when "prosperity" reached the point where all Americans were living a pretty plush existence), the PTB realized that a nation of fat-happy-idle folks was not going to continue to struggle and advance and make even more luxury for the rulers.
And so they had a brainstorm ... they invented "consumerism"!
Now, consumerism is radically different from "capitalism", in that "consumers" have no "capital", but they do provide work and energy. And in America today, the people work to consume ... to buy the latest/newest/better/larger/ newer/faster THING.
Americans work harder than any people in the developed world (check the stats) not for the necessities, but for the stuff that they want - to get their big car, their big TV, their suburban tract house with central heat/air ... their stuff. The vast majority of Americans are not working to survive, they are working to survive well. As one comic put it, promoting America as the pinnacle of civilization, "Civilization goes through three phases: "if I will eat?, when will I eat?, and where will I have lunch?" But even if you do not work, in this land of ours, you will be housed, clothed, fed, doctored, educated, and even entertained ... in a manner that even Kings and Emperors could not have enjoyed a century or so ago.
So, not to belabor the point, if you want a better community, you have to learn to regard your neighbor as a person as deserving of the good stuff as you are. You have to be willing to tear your loaf in half and give some to your neighbor (and by "neighbor" I mean all those around you), to help him find a job. To teach him what you know.
The alternative is to continue to snatch its of what he has, to vie for more and better than he has, to slave and strive for a bigger TV and a bigger car and a larger yard. Then you, too, like most Americans, can spend your days keeping an eye peeled for a hungry neighbr trying to steal from YOU.
Hey, whatever works. You can be rich and suspicious, or no richer than your neighbor (however rich or poor he may be) and confident that he is living like you. You pick your social system, you takes your consequences.
Cheers.

stop putting ourselves first. When we reach out to others we are in a sense reaching out to ourselves. Fulfilling the needs of others does the same for us. I know that when I am in a bad mood and make the effort to be nice to others, including strangers, I can not stay mad. Then I not only make the day a little better for someone else but for me as well.

We must first check out whether we are a good citizen. We must think everyone as equal and must treat everyone equally. This will surely help in creating a better community.
