Although it is in good condition I can't get it to play loud enough. Does anyone know how I can increase the volume? I have tryed it through an accoustic guitar amp, but it is still not loud enough.

You need a pre-amp to use a turntable as the signal is so small. Preferably one for a turntable.

Get a new needle. You'll find them on the internet or in music stores. Check the wires in the stylus (arm), sounds like you might have a loose one. Take the bugger apart, it is a simple machine. The speaker could be blown, just look inside.
