Personally there is nothing so good,
as washing dried out in the fresh air !
Everything smells so sweet and clean!
In the real world ;
There is so much air pollution ,in some areas,
that it is a waste of time putting your clean washing out,
just to get filthy again
( and this is the air some of us have to breath in too !)
I live in the UK, where we do not as yet,
have a law, that restricts us from putting our washing
out to dry.!!!!
If we had,
i would be the first revolutionary ,
to get that law overturned ,
even if they had to drag me off, screaming to jail .....
I just love to see washing billowing on the line !

wow- and all I remember as a kid was my mom used to always use the line outdoors to dry her clothes. That sounds like a question they would need to ask their governor or mayor of the state. They cant say that hanging laundry outside is a threat. no wonder our world is going shot to hell.
when the day comes and we will all die- im sure someone will be beating themselves up over forcing people to do their luandry inside.

Insane, eh? It's because the neighbors don't want to look like a bunch of rednecks. Really. It's all about the look. By the way, these are local (city village) laws rather than state laws. Crazy.

Some new flats in Glasgow area have no outdoor drying facilities so people are forced to use tumble driers. Not that we get great weather but it still saves energy using the sun and wind . Plus your clothes smell nicer. Ridiculous.

Because their clothes are so big, when they out on the clothes line they act like a sail and actually move the entire country.

Probably the same stupid laws that say you can't shake your doormat clean before 8.00am in the UK! Old laws that haven't been updated or removed from the law statutes!

When I was in certain parts of the States I was surprised that there were no clothes lines in yards. I was told this was because they weren't allowed to dry washing outside as it made the house look 'untidy'. Go figure. They'd rather waste heaps of electricity to dry clothes in an area where they'd dry just as quickly on the line.
