Its friday (duh) and on sunday my friend asked me to come to a movie with her and her boyfriend. There's this super shy guy I really like, and I want to ask him out. But I'm worried if its really okay to be the one to ask out the guy, or if he should ask you out. and i've never been on a real date before so i don't know how to act or anything.

If he's super shy, it's unlikely for him to ask you out. If you really like him and would like to know if he feels the same way about you, you should be the aggressive one. Good luck and best wishes.

I met my boyfriend in a situation in which he had no way to ask me out (he's in law enforcement and is bound by legal stuff). I took a risk and asked him out by calling him up at work. I figured that if he said no, at least no one knew I had asked. As it happens, he said yes, and we're been together for more than two years.
If this guy is shy, he probably won't ever get up the nerve to ask you out. So do yourselves both a favor and see what happens!!!

Just be yourself and ask him out. If he is the mature type, he doesn't like silly lines or anything else, just a straight forward question is best.
You did say he was shy, so don't be too blunt. Tell him that you like him and would like to see a movie with him.
What's the worst that could happen?

Definitely ask him. If he's shy like I am, he'll probably be relieved that you asked him so he didn't have to ask you. Just ask him casually that your going to a movie with so and so and that it would be great if he joined you. Also if he's shy, don't forget to flirt with him at the movie, throw popcorn at him (but don't be obnoxious) hold his hand and put your head on his shoulder. Don't worry, its easier than you think.

Nothing wrong with a woman asking a man out. Go for your life :)
I know it's a cliche, but just be yourself. Ask him out. If he says no, at least you asked. If he says yes, go out and let him see you for who you are. Don't try to act cool or be someone you're not.
Live by that, and you're set ;)

well, first do your homework because you're obviously extremely immature.
And once your homework is done, just ask him out, it's not the end of the world if he says no.
also, I asked my boyfriend out and we've been inseperable ever since.
bottom line, ask him out, but only after you become intellegent or mature, cause right now, you're obviously not either.
