i might be getting my 30yr old 'o' level biology mixed up here! I've got vague memories of Louis Pasture doing the parturising thing and a guy who discovered penacillin. is there any connection? is it ok to mix them? (or did i dream the whole thing up?)

Concerning antibiotics, you can take with milk except two groups:
1) Ciprofloxacin and its analogs 2) Tetracycline and analogs.
This is because milk contains Calcium that will chelate (Bind) these antibiotics and deactivate them.
No problem if you take any antibiotic with paracetamol, or paracetamol with any type of milk products.

If we take under consideration that especially for women who are under antibiotics must eat a lot of yogurt I don't think that there is any danger at all. I know from my own experience and I had no side effects at all. It will be a good advice though to read the instructions' leaflet before taking any medication or just ask yr doctor.

Some antibiotics suggest you take with milk or food others guard against it. Depends on which particular antibiotic your dealing with. If it's one of the really strong one's like clindamycin or metronidazole you're better off to just take with plenty of water and not attempt to mix anything with them. Clindamycin in particular your biggest concern is not to lie down for at least 30 minutes or you will get acid reflux. Best bet is follow the instructions the pharmacist gives you with your prescription.

Check with your doctor, not us. What does it say on the pill bottle? Are you lactose intolerant? I could guess, but it would be better to just get the right answer.
