If you are on Windows XP
-Go into Start - all programes -accessories - tools - system restore and on the system restore page there is a link on the left (half way down the apge) for settings- click this and you will see a check box for turning the system restore off-- if it's checked then uncheck it.

And once you've enabled it, set a system restore point, just in case your system "flies south for the winter" after you've updated Media Player! :-)

you can find system restore in the Control Panel

Access your control panel and go to system, there will be a "System Restore tab" untick turn off System Restore

1. Control Panel
2. System
3. System Restore (tab)
4. untick "Turn off System Restore"

Right click on My computer., Properties.

Go to System Restore Tab.

You can enable it from here
