Please, I really need to know who?Are you saying that the Pope goes to someone and confesses his sin? What happens after that? Sounds like Revelations to me, The Beast and the False prophet. A little help here please.

I don't know who is the Pope's confessor but, yes, he does have one.

Just like all Christians, the Bible recommends that we confess our sins orally:

James 5:16 - Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.

Acts 19:18 - Many of those who had become believers came forward and openly acknowledged their former practices.

Matthew 3:5-6 - At that time Jerusalem, all Judea, and the whole region around the Jordan were going out to him (John the Baptist) and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins.

Mark 1:5 - People of the whole Judean countryside and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem were going out to him (John the Baptist) and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins.

1 Timothy 6:12 - Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 John 1:9 - If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing.

Numbers 5:6-7 - "Tell the Israelites: If a man (or a woman) commits a fault against his fellow man and wrongs him, thus breaking faith with the LORD, he shall confess the wrong he has done, restore his ill-gotten goods in full, and in addition give one fifth of their value to the one he has wronged."

Nehemiah 9:2 - Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all who were of foreign extraction, then stood forward and confessed their sins and the guilty deeds of their fathers.

Sirach 4:26 - Be not ashamed to acknowledge your guilt, but of your ignorance rather be ashamed.

The Catholic Church believes that "Only God forgives sin."

When a penitent person asks God for forgiveness, his (or her) sins are immediately forgiven.

Catholics also believe that when someone sins they not only hurt their relationship with God, they also injure the entire church, the body of Christ.

Jesus said, "I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)

And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,"Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." (Luke 20:22-23)

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation with a priest ordained in the name of Jesus Christ not only reconciles the sinner to God but with the entire church, including you and me.

With love in Christ.

Why must you people persecute the Pope and Catholics? did not Jesus tell us not to judge or we would be judged, the Pope is a human being and not exempt from sin but you can be sure that he does not sin as most of us do,he may confess that he lost his temper with someone or that he accuses himself of not being humble enough for example, compared to you and I he is much more loyal and holy,I suggest that people like yourself should look to your own sins first before coming out with biased vitriol like this.

Slider: we do not worship anyone but God,we honor Mary as the Mother of Christ and also our Mother,a little knowledge can be dangerous, stop judging what you don`t know.

No one knows who the current Pope confesses to, or if he does at all. That is his prvate life. He could confess to any person he chooses, or, perhaps no one but God. I would imagine that he gets spiritual help from various Cardinals.

They say the Pontiff is one of the lonliest people in the world

yet another false impression further ahead with Anti-Catholics. The penitent does no longer confess their sins to a Bishop of Priest, somewhat the Bishop or Priest is the appearing representative to the Church (community) that's who they are confessing their sins to. It use to be that the penitent in the course of the early Church might want to ought to bypass earlier the community and confess their sins to their Christian brothers and sisters. The Bishop or Priest being the ambassador of Christ might want to both provide the penitent absolution or deny absolution in the front of the community. because in user-friendly words God can forgive the penitent their mortal sins with the help of the Church. there become yet an option decision to dodge this embarrassment become to reconcile themselves with their friends whom that they had sinned adverse to. Now imagine about this the on the spot you're baptized decrease back in the course of the early Church you became challenge to public penance. and thanks to some sins like homicide, rape, adultery, and so on. you've been dealt with like everybody else. this variety of tremendous number of were reluctant to be baptized which resulted in inner most penance between the Bishop or Priest representing the Church (community).

He confesses to god, like everyone else should do. Forgiveness of sins can only be done by Jesus and god. So how can a confessor forgive your sins? That is wrong within the catholic church. Corrupted instrument of worldly power it is. How can you catholics pray to Jesus´ mother when all power is with Jesus. It is like worshipping your King´s mom. Get a life.

That is a good question. Here is a better one. When was the last time you prayed for him to Come to the fullness of the truth of the word of God and for his eyes to be fully opened and his mind cleared of imaginations. We battle not aginst flesh and blood.
