Parents Are totally both. Unfortunantely, so many barriers inhibit parents from doing just that...parenting. They/we are so worried about crossing that "line" that we start to slack in our responsibilities. If a parent is any good at being one than morally speaking they couldn't help but feel responsibility. We try to mold our children into caring and responsible members of our society with the hopes that they might make some kind of positive impact on the life of at least one person. When they turn the wrong way, we hurt too. We want so badly for them to succeed in so many ways that in order to ensure that, we need to connect with them regularly, honestly, and sincerely. That is how I feel that I am morally responsible anyway.

Parents are legally responsible for their kids until they're 18. But there are cases when a parent isn't legally responsible. A grandparent could be legally responsible, not the parent.
Good morals are important and should be instilled by good parents from birth. Kids learn from their parents and half of them aren't even aware of it. Does this make sense?

If children do something right, parents are quick to take credit for it, right? If children something wrong and the person is a minor, then yes, they are also responsible for the mistakes as well.

Children are the product of their upbringing, therefore parents are responsible for the actions of their kids.
