It's the same tactic that was used during the Vietnam War. It failed, especially after we had max troop strengths of over 500,000. Lyndon Johnson called his war critics, "nervous nellies", Bush calls it, "cut and run". It's the same politics of fear, void of reality, it's just a different decade and a different useless war. Let's wave the flag at the next unfortunate soldier who comes home in a box. How sad, how sad.

To the mother of a soldier: You have my prayers that your son will come home safely. Two months ago, my neice was wounded by a roadside bomb in Baghdad. She has had 3 facial surgeries and faces more. She does what she is told even tho' she has misgivings for the war. She's a soldier, just like your son. Be proud of their commitment to duty, but realize this President has bungled us into a no-win situation. Iraq has to care for their own. We can't spoon-feed them too much longer. We can't force the sectarian violence to stop regardless of what we do. We don't belong there anymore. Best wishes to you and your family, and your son.

Sending more troops over five digits is fine. The US Army now is over stretch and they need to stay at least another five or more years.Due to their first blunder of disbanding the whole Iraqi Army, now they have become their substitute and they need to rebuild a New Iraqi Army.In life,it is very easy to destroy or dismantle within an hour or a day but it is really hard to get back to the previous establishment. So,in my point of view is who ever started have to finish it.And coming back to casualties of war,I think there is always be a casualties and one cannot avoid it but one can find a way to minimize it.The fact is, you need to be "TRUSTED" by the people of Iraq and furthermore down the road you need to create more jobs and to give confidants to them to sent their children's to schools so that one day they will become leaders for their own country, not the Americans.Imagine,if you have a sound life, which means that you do have the basic infrastructure such as electricity's,roads, bridges, shopping malls, movie theaters,fast-food restaurants, etc. This is the only way I see it to divert their attention from the present sectarian violent that they been facing right now.

I am a mother of a son in bagdad. I know some of the horror stories, as well. I think my feelings on Iraq are irrellivent. I would love to know what the soldiers think. I think that if they feel they need more troops. Send them. I think that if they feel they need to come home. Bring them. My only feelings are that I don't have a clue unless I'm there. They are. They know what they need and what truly is going on over there. I do KNOW that the news is 78.999999% wrong. I'm not saying their lying, but I Ido know when the soldiers says that they are "incorrect", they must be. Thank you. Mom

I wouldn't even send a brass band. Makes me appreciate what Harold Wilson did standing up against the American government when they wanted British troops sent to Korea. He paid the price for it too.

I honestly think we have no business over there. The only reason Bush started this whole mess is because of the oil suplly in that country. Looking for weapons of mass destruction? Only an excuse.

Get the media out, give the troops what they need, and they'll get the job done.

I think if we are committed and find no way out then we will have to send 0.3 million in order to get rid of lawlessness going on their, if we are sincere.
