I like Btitish Airways and will always give them a chance they usually offer reasonable quality at reasonable prices and you fly from proper airports to proper airports at sensible times. They are fine when everything goes according to plan but when it doesn't they behave like a rabbit caught in the headlights!

My experience of this phenomenum goes back many years and the things I have experienced personally still seem to be repeated. They were in the pre christmas fog incident and now with this strike threat if it isn't going right they haven't a clue what to do, they seem to think of the customers last and then treat them like cargo. What makes it worse is that for most of their troubles they can be seen coming thereby giving plenty of time to arrange alternatives!!!!

i like BA too, but i'm just so fed up with all their issues.
i agree with you, they knew this was going to happen ages ago and have just sat there hoping that the workers will back down
but hten again, it's like saying that the rail companies know that each year it may snow in winter and they still have problems on their line affecting commuters very badly???

Some part of BA has been on strike at least once per year, every year for the last 4 years at least. They can't do much about the weather - but their back-up plans for anything going wrong is poor. Yet they charge a fortune, their BA Executive Club is getting more and more restrictive, and the service is quite frankly mediocre at best.

Plan B is to fly another airline. In fact, that's my plan A...

People have such huge expectations when they fly. British Airways operation is extremely complex, involving huge numbers of people. Everybody relies on each other to do their job for it to work. Now add bad weather, security problems and other companies British Airways need to supply equipment and services. Its like a house of cards that just needs the slightest nudge to bring it crashing down. British Airways never seen to have a Plan B because very often theres no alternative.

They even deny that they have a major security problem. But I don't think that it's a british problem more a management problem since our office is in Germany and we only talked to german BA employees. Meanwhile we fly LH again and are still alive and kickin'.

I agree, although I did receive an e-mail from them warning of the strikes, they need more foreward planning.
