you can do the traditional transatlantic crossing with Cunard on the Queen Mary 2 and certain times of the year you can travel on the other liners the QE2 and the Victoria. In Jan 08 they are all going to be in New York together!!!
The cost for a one way trip by sea travelling back by plane is around £1050 per person at the moment without any agents discounts but this all depends onthe type of cabin you are looking for.
The Queen Mary 2 is a very large ocean liner where the other 2 are smaller and more intimate liners.
you can do back to back where you sail both directions as I have booked this many times for a customer of mine who wont fly.
It departs Southampton and arrives in New York. You can either do your own arrangements in the US from there and travel back when you want or do a stay arranged by Cunard in the Waldorf New York.
If you need any other information then please contact me.

The transatlantic journey times are exactly the same as what they were 100 years ago when the Titanic was making the crossing - about 6 days.
Not so many cruise liners make the journey these days, but there is still a Southampton-New York service, even if it is not as frequent as it once was. Cunard fares on the Queen Mary 2 start at about £999 for the cheapest cabins, which is why most people these days take the plane - it is quicker and cheaper. Of course for those with a fear of flying, this is the only option for UK-US travel.
