By definition, a third world war will involve the super-powers in two opposite camps, and if no price for victory is too high, then nuclear weapons will be used, how can they not.....which means world war three will be global suicide. The middle east trouble is merely in the heap of regional wars between rump states, when the super-powers collide, then come back and we'll talk World War.

There are now more than 50,000 nuclear weapons, more than 13,000 megatons of yield, deployed in the arsenals of the US and Russia -- enough to obliterate a million Hiroshimas.

But there are fewer than 3000 cities on the Earth with populations of 100,000 or more. You cannot find anything like a million Hiroshimas to obliterate. Prime military and industrial targets that are far from cities are comparatively rare. Thus, there are vastly more nuclear weapons than are needed for any plausible deterrence of a potential adversary.

In the first 30 minutes of a full scale nuclear exchange 1.1 billion people will have been vaporized, mostly in the US, Europe, Russian, China and Japan. Another 1 billion would die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere would be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

There will be no world war 3 because the people are scared enough to have one again. Day by day people are getting educated and civilized and also they are getting more and more sensitive. They can now understand others emotions and thats so cool.
Causing death is not what the most of people want. As we are using brain now a days more than past, there are no chances of having world war 3. But still the chances are there if a bunch of heartless and brainless leaders are given the chance to rule the world.
