Famous men have been too busy getting famous, and too busy staying there, and too busy dealing with their famousness to really understand what the truth of reality is. Fame is like wealth --- pretty much a curse for which people foolishly yearn.
I'm amazed that so few people understand what Nicola Tesla contributed, or that no one knew who the heck that nun Mother Teresa was until she was checking out...
Screw the famous people. If I had my life to do over again, I'd want to be a fire fighter.

Western Historian Michael H Hart in his book – The 100: A Ranking of the most Influential Person in History has named Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as the most influential man throughout the history of mankind. According to him, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born in the midst of an ignorant society that was way behind knowledge, science and technology. Despite this, he built a knowledgeable society, and founded the basis of intellectual renaissance and the subsequent Islamic civilization.
Today we have indeed benefited from his teachings, when UNESCO came up with the concept of life long learning in the 1970s. The prophet (pbuh) himself said –garner knowledge from the cradle till the grave.
The example by the prophet (pbuh) which mentions seek -knowledge even in China, has open doors not only at that time but in contemporary time too. It is said that China is far off and a big country before the coming of Islam.
Currently, China is proving to be a world power that is gaining more grounds. This proves the relevancy of the prophet’s teaching from before till today.
This is one great man, our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)!

The Lord Jesus Christ there is no one else that would have died for the sins of the world.
Apostle Paul.
The disciples, all low in the eyes of man but great in the eyes of God.
Patrick Henry.
The men who died in world wars to make the world a better place for us.
King James who authorised men to translate an accurate version of the bible he nearly lost his life when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament.
The Vietnam war veterans who were told to go to a war to fight the spread of communism then they came back to their countries and were called murderers.
I guess the list is endless.
The men with no names are more worthy to mention than the ones with the big names. If you have a big name it is usually the media that has made your name great.

No famous people are heroes as they're too busy enhancing their power and wealth. Heroes are those millions who risk their lives everyday to save other people's lives (firefighters, policemen, rescuers, volonteers, doctors and nurses working in war zones), as well as those working hard to defeat diseases and save the lives of those whose lives are at risk ( doctors, scientists and researchers).
Once upon a time there were great famous men too though, such as Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

in the past there was galileo, tesla, washington.
In the modern day, it's hard to be a hero. The real heroes are the average joes that have their own personal battles, not the hypocritical politicians or removed-from-reality hollywood stars

most great men throughout history were hated by the people
that they served like Abraham Lincoln for instance so how do you define great men ? if great men think alike then the possibilities are even less . and is a great man an honorable one ?
