You're a very observant person. I agree with you completely.
I think the problem lies in the fact that society is thrusting adulthood on young people at such an early age, and mentally, physically, and emotionally they are not ready to be adults. It's my observation that many of the "adults" I see nowadays are not truly adults themselves, but kids in big bodies. They have a very low maturity level, but are expected to do adult tasks and achieve adult results. I don't see how it can be done.
Television, music and the media has forced kids to "grow up" and want to do adult things at young ages. You see teenagers who physically look like they are in their 20's, due to makeup and clothing, but in reality, they do not "fit" their clothes because mentally they are not yet adults.
How can kids have fun nowadays? I know of one experience I saw where kids were banned from riding their skateboards down the streets or in parking lots. I used to do all of the above when I was a kid. Lawyers and insurance liability have pretty much eliminated places for young people to hang out. Where can they go?
Schools do not teach discipline anymore, so they are basically told to do whatever they want to do, bad or good. The parents are working double shifts to pay for their kids cell phones, computers, i-Pods, etc. So they're not getting parental attention. So there are alot of factors involved, I think.
Unless the parents make a conscious effort to become involved in their childrens lives, and allow them to be exactly what they are, kids.... then I'm afraid this awful situation you mentioned will just go on, or get worse.
Prayers!

Kids nowdays think more about relationships and sex beause that is the only thing they are exposed to on television and their parents are not talking to them and making clear that a relationship at the age of 13 is a BAD THING. Kids want to be bonded to another person, they want to have emotional and physical feelings for another person (so they find it), and then it ends after a month and they get their heart broken(and they are wayy to young to know how to handle that hurt feeling). *sigh* It sucks, but hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes.

You know, kids (if it's okay for them to be called kids), are quite liberated nowadays... As for them, they are what they call "adult trap in a child's body"... Well, for some reasons, these kids want to be more like an adult, because they see how life affects adults. They are curious on how is it being an adult.. With this fact, all of their peers try to move like one. So, when kids see people, if I may say, "moved" with love, they come to think of "what will happen to me if this will be MY situation?"...

Yea people buy into stupidity. Love is something they search for because they are told thats what they are supposed to have to be happy. These little tykes will end up ok in the end (as long as they dont get obsessive) its just one of those trends of the new generation.

Hiya.
Yea, your right. even kids as young as 9 or 10 are going on about dateing and love. its pathetic. like you, when i was that age i wanted to have fun, like sports and not spending my time obsessing with guys, to be honest, i didnt even notice them back then.but i think kids are like this now because they see it on tv and they see other people like it, maybe even older siblings and they feel that thats the norm.and also other kids pressure other kids into that thinking frame, its sad really cause they'l look back when they're older and wonder why they even acted like that.

When my kids were in middle-school about 4 years ago, we were at a dance (a dance...in 6 through 8th grades!) and about 40 minutes into it there was a girl bawling her eyes out being followed into the girl's room by about 4 of her friends.
A boy she liked had danced with...GASP....another girl!
I expressed my amazement at this total drama to the principal, who then told me he was surprised they had gone 40 minutes into a 2½ hour dance before it started!
These girls are already planning their marriages before their training bras are needed!
