Let's see what the Bible says ....
Peace and Love.
(Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.
So weapons are a necessity it seems.....

Yes. Like my grandpappy said: If they hit you, than means that you are in a fight, so go ahead and swing. It's like this. If you are struck/attacked because of your Christian beliefs then turn the other cheek, because it is not you but Christ that they are attacking. If you are struck/attacked for any other reason, well, lets just say that you should give you soul to God, because the rest of you is mine! Why do you think Peter carried a sword? Or that God told the Israelites to form Armies?

The strict conditions for legitimate defense by military force require rigorous consideration. The gravity of such a decision makes it subject to rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy. At one and the same time:
the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain;
all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective;
there must be serious prospects of success;
the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction weighs very heavily in evaluating this condition.
These are the traditional elements enumerated in what is called the "just war" doctrine. The evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.
Let us take a closer look at each of the elements in the Church's just war doctrine:

The 'sword' that Christians must carry is the 'sword' of the Spirit. With this sword, "no weapon formed against me shall prosper".

I've always wondered why swords went out of style. What outfit wouldn't look better with a beautiful, shiny sword?

Revelation 13:10......he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword...........
That should be clear enough for the first question.
