you dont need to be 'treated'. keeping busy is heatlthy for you. you are obviously active and productive. just try to spend more time in the sun of take walks or treat yourself more often. too many people wanna put a term on what theyre thinking. how could treatment really help anyway? the human brain is an amazing thing. yours is just fine

Your anxiety sounds normal to me, and not to the point of a disorder. The fact that you fall asleep fairly quickly says alot.
If you are a "worrier", there are a few techniques you can try out to minimize it:
- Invest some time in journaling. Getting the thoughts onto paper can help to get them out of your head later when you need to relax or sleep.
- Progressive relaxation exercises in bed as you fall to sleep. You can probably find some by Googling the words. But if you don't, try clenching and then releasing muscle groups from head to toe (or vice versa).
- Meditation cassette tapes or CDs. If you can't find a meditation, try those nature sound CDs.
- Breathing exercises. Not trying to workout, but as you try to fall asleep, pay attention to your breath and you abdomen rising and falling, rather than all the busy thoughts you normally listen too.
If you know more than you've told me, and you suspect you have a serious disorder, then look in your yellowpages for a free mental health clinic or a suicide hotline. (I'm not suggesting you are suicidal - but the folks at the hotlines can help you find a mental health clinic). Find a professional and get a professional opinion.
What you've stated about yourself sounds like normal responses to stressful situations. Perhaps if you get someone to help you figure out how to manage your spending so your income covers more of your bills, you will lower your stress and improve this situation.
And one thing it took me a couple decades to master: Don't beat yourself up over what "dumb" things you may have said during the day. As you said we all do that, and what's done is done. If it is serious make a plan in your journal about how you will apologize or make up for the remark so you can "put it to bed".
If it was a remark to a stranger you will never see again (ever give directions to something 2 lights down the road and tell the stranger who asks directions that it is 4 lights down???) then just forgive yourself. It wasn't malicious, it was just a mistake.
Hang in there.

It sounds to me as if your life is 'normal' ... except for the 'stress' you are putting on yourself by worrying that you have a SEVERE MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEM like 'bi-polar disorder' or 'anxiety.' If you are really 'worried' about this, then you should see a 'counselor' who can give you 'tests' and tell you whether you really do have 'something' that needs to be treated, or you don't. These tests are actually 'widely used' by the 'welfare' people to see if some people are really 'ill' mentally or are just trying to 'play crazy' to get a 'free income' and they are relatively expensive if you have to pay for them ... but if you are really worried, then the money you pay will be well spent, because that is the ONLY way to tell for sure.

If it's keeping you up enough to be labeled insomnia, it could be an anxiety disorder. If left untreated, I don't think it gets worse, you simply learn to live w/your worries and learn to handle them. There are many people who are constant worriers (me for one) that don't necessarily "treat" it. I've just learned when to like "catch" myself, I realize when my worrying is getting out of hand and I'll think of something else. Its always good to talk to someone, 'cause they'll point out when you really needn't worry. My husband does that.

sounds pretty normal to me! Most patients with anxiety are nervous, paranoid, angry, loud, jumpy.... if this sounds like you, see your doctor about it...
But I think everyone gets stressed sometimes... but hey, go with your gut feeling.
