I thought most foster parents did it for the money! I don't see that the children walk away at 18 with much most of the time. No money ever put away for them. To me it is a rip off. The kids would be better off in a Orphanage. At least this way they would be able to make some money and have a trade and learn to get along with others better. There are advantages. We had a great Orphanage up the street from our Jr. HS.

I ended up with one of my step daughters on a foster lic. This was back in the early 80's and I received around $1400 a month for her. I'm shocked at the quotes I see here. You would think the $'s would go up, not down.

I had custody, and was asked to get the foster license. I think you have to go to Social Services to apply for a license. Home inspection. You have to be able to provide a bedroom for the child.

I know someone who fosters for free, they do it because then can and they want to. However, you can get paid a nominal fee per month to help go towards food, cost of living etc. It must be done because you want to though, not for the money, it is supposed to be about helping the child.

apparently ,by the other post it goes by the state....my friend use to take in foster children....three was her max...her husband worked at a local plant and made around forty grand a year...one year she made more than him........

word of warning...some of these kids have really been abused..and can have some serious issues...the last child they had...was ranked or categorized as a lower number..or something...degrees of abuse or problems..some way of showing if a child needs more help than another..or something like that....this kid was suppose to be mild.....they ended up afraid ..there knives kept disappearing...... the child was real combative....their little house dog ended up being choked to death.... and the only one who could have done it was the child...he never admitted to it.....even though no one else could have done it........

these children need help and a chance at a stable home...but if you are looking into this because of the money...you might want to rethink this....there is more to this than meets the eye.........

by the way you have written this question I would suggest that you dont foster a child as you seem to only be interested in the money. Foster children need love, attention and support along with stability especially as they often have 'issues' following their upbringing. These children need to be wanted and foster caring isnt something you do for money, its not a career its abouting supporting and looking after a child for their life or for aslong as they are placed with you.

A friend of mine has 8 kids 7 adopted and #8 is still considered foster care but she is in the process of adopting. She got $500 per month per kid, plus free daycare and free medical.

specific you do gets a commission to be a foster verify yet, i don't think of social centers might enable the youngster to be cared for with the help of somebody else in the journey that your mom went to artwork. The vetting technique is extremely strict and the foster mom and dad are meant to look after the youngster comprehensive time.

Depends on the state, whether it is a county or private agency and the age of the child....you shouldn't do it for the money though, because you have to spend the money on the kids and provide receipts that you have done so....

if that is a true and honest question.. then you shouldn't be a foster parent. They are not a pay check.

I heard it is 11.00 dollars a day. But if you are just doing it for the money then don't do it.
