A friend of mine pierced both of her hips and she healed fine. You need to be constantly sterilizing it and cleaning it (soap & water, make sure to wash your hands ALWAYS) or you can use H20cean, it's a brand of Salt-Water spray that is used for any/most piercings.

I used it for my tongue, belly button, rook, cartilidge, lip, and nipples and it has always let my body heal perfectly. Also, I would try Neosporin (my piercer doesn't recommend it but it always works for me)

Doing this is almost a GUARANTEE that your surface piercing will last a long time- Months/Years. Just make sure to keep it clean and try not to let your clothing touch it. NO tight shirts! As it will only irritate the vulnerability of your piercing.

Clean up to 4x / day.

Good luck! ♥

Go get you some Sea Salt. Use a little bit of this with a cup of warm water and rinse your piercing every day twice a day until it heals. Do this rinse after you cleaned the piercing with antibacterial hand soap, I used ajax, you find it in the dish soap aisle.
The rinse will help with swelling and tenderness and speed up the healing. Make sure to take good care of it, keep it clean. If in the future it ever reacts and swells you can use this rinse to save yourself, i know it's helped me. I was told about this rinse by an expert piercer that does those crazy conventions you see on t.v.

if you keep the bar in it, then it should stay there
