So many times i ve heard that in a relantionship men need to be respected but i have failed to understand what it means to respect a man because i ve thought that its all the same with respecting anybody. Is there any difference?

There is no difference - all human beings deserve respect. Courtesty, appreciation, consideration and dignity should be afforded to all relationships by both men and women.

In a relationship, there is a big difference. A man wants respect because it is part of what defines him. It is a major positive motivator in his life and if he does not get it in a relationship, he will seek it elsewhere.

He is glad to do anything to earn it, but wants it on his terms which is a valid position.

If you love him then you respect him. If you lack respect in a relationship, then it's a messed up dysfunctional relationship.
