"Pagan" (or, more precisely, neopagan) is an umbrella term for any of a number of spiritual paths that are either A) nature based and/or B) magic based. Wicca is the best-known, and the founding of Wicca in the mid-1940s pretty much started the neopagan community. Druidism as it is now is a reconstruction (of varying qualities) of what modern researchers think might have been the Celtic priesthood in Ireland prior to the arrival of Christianity.
As for which one's right for you? Only you can decide that. I recommend just taking your time with it. There's a LOT to learn out there, and no need to hurry. Learn a little bit about a lot of things, find what interests you the most, and then study those things that really capture your attention.
I'd recommend checking out http://www.witchvox.com/xtrads.html to find out more about specific traditions, as well as http://www.paganachd.com/faq/ for specifically Celtic material.
As to books, I'd recommend Nicholas Graham's "The Four Powers" (which should be available on Amazon in the next couple of weeks, or you can try Googling it) as well as Graham Harvey's "Contemporary Paganism". Both of these will give you very different introductions to a number of paths. For further reading you might also like my book review blog at http://lupabitch.wordpress.com
Good luck :)

LOLOL! I shouldn't snort and that i'm genuinely no longer guffawing at YOU... i'm guffawing because your difficulty demonstrates the complications that lie inherently interior the concern itself so completely! each and everything that you've examine and been advised is largely actuality in it is own way. enable me destroy it down. Gerald Garnder depending the religion of Wicca interior the Nineteen Forties or thereabouts. He CLAIMED that Wicca became Witchcraft and taught that Wicca and Witchcraft were in truth one and the same. To immediately, some Wiccans nonetheless use the words interchangeably. Witchcraft, the craft, has been practiced for 1000's of years (it is in the previous Wicca became ever depending) even though it is no longer until eventually those days that witches have began extremely calling their personal craft "witchcraft" and it is no longer until eventually the stunning couple of a lengthy time period that present day witches have began to tell apart the words Wicca and witchcraft. it is why people in many cases ought to outline those words each and every time they meet a clean human being in the previous they could be able to communicate intelligently about the concern with them. maximum present day witches now aknowledge that they are 2 diverse issues, yet some people (extraordinarily traditionalist Wiccans) are stuck on Gardner's assertation that they are the same. it is not any ask your self you're at a loss for words if a number of the most experienced Wiccans and witches nonetheless ought to communicate the meanings of those words in the previous being waiting to have a verbal change. Being Wiccan would not excuse you from the human concern. living through "damage none" is a perfect, yet only as Christians would properly be jerks, so can Wiccans. no longer particular why you'd be regarded down on through the Lord and lady of Wicca... that one surprises me, fairly, yet maximum Wiccans that i recognize ought to argue that it is poppycock and that the Lord and lady do not provide a hoot in case you worship different deities besides Them... it is only that the religion of Wicca would not extremely teach about different deities and think about their Gods as form of universalistic... that They characterize ALL gods. Combining both conception structures is attainable, yet very complicated, uncommon and rather debatable. do not enable others jerky habit sway what you sense on your heart. best of luck and blesings, -Scarlet

Any religion or following that depends on carved or made imagery is not approved by Almighty God.
Very few religions can pass this simple test..
(Exodus 20:4-6) “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me; 6 but exercising loving-kindness toward the thousandth generation in the case of those who love me and keep my commandments.
