Basically, it depends on your agreement with your employer, but if there is no stipulated term in your appointment contract as to when you receive your pay, then it depends on your employer's policy and arrangement with the bank. That you get paid (i.e. your salary becomes due) on the last day of the month does not necessarily mean the money goes into your account the previous night (only if you have a generous employer). Your pay could be credited into your account at start of work or any time before close of work on the LAST WORKING DAY of the month, it depends on your employer's preference. All that matters is that you get access to your funds that day. So, if you are paid before close of work then it means that you are paid in arrears for the remaining hours in the last working day

It actually depends on your bank but it should be accessible at some point on the 31st.

Some banks automatically put it in your account at midnight the turn of the day between the 30th and the 31st, some won't put it in until the early hours of the 31st and I've known some banks that didn't put the wages in until lunch time on pay day!

It actually goes in about 4:00 a.m. on the morning of the 31st. If it went in at midnight on the 31st, it would actually be the 1st so it would be late. Hope this makes sense, but it is how it works.

Sometime between midnight and 8am of the 31st, usually - i.e. if you went to your account at 8am on the 31st, it should be there.

according to the banks our employees use they have until 5pm on the 31st to actually credit it to the account.

in reality it usually goes in about midnight/1am and is in there when you wake up in the morning, but dont rely upon it being so.

The company may in fact pay you early to preclude hang ups. We used to have to pay 3 days before to make sure it was there before the months end, ie close of work on the last working day of the month excluding saturdays.
