Something I've always wondered: How is it dealt with if one is several months, or a year older than their girlfriend or boyfriend? Technically, they'd be breaking the law, right? Does it really matter if the age gap is that small?

i think it depends on where you live. i live in Oregon and the law here is that in order for someone that is 18 or older to get in trouble for dating someone that is a minor the age gap has to exceed 3 years. so if a guy was 18 and he was dating a 16 year old it wouldn't matter but if the guy were say 20 and the girl 16 then he would get into trouble. how i know that is because my cousin got pregnant when she was 16 and her bf was 18 and her mom tried to get him arrested but she was told that because the age gap wasn't 3 years there was nothing that she could do about it

Yes, its still considered rape. Maybe a different form of it, but it is considered so. Technically the person can still get in trouble for dealing with a minor, granted that this gets reported. Although kids have sex all the time in that kind of situation....so not all the time it gets reported becuase it doesnt need to.

no its not rape if the participants are more 4 years different in age then its rape OR if 1 of the participants does not want to participate in the act of having sexual contact then its rape and its always rape if 1 of the participants does not want sex and/or sexual contact with the other participant

in the situation of which you are stating there has been no law broken unless the sex was not wanted by one of the participants or if to have this activity other crimes were comitted example breaking and entering, grand theift auto, and others

no matter if the age is in month, hours or minutes and whether it with consent. as long as the girl/boy is still underage it is still rape.

At that age i't matter (i personally think) ur old enough to know what ur doing.
But the law has it's own set of rules, so it prob is illegal.
I'm surprised having sex at all isn't illegal.
