I have this rash on my shin. It's extremely itchy. It has been there for about 3 months now. It's red (I'm sure from itching it so much). It doesn't spread and I know it's not scabbies or anything like that. It has little bumps around the outer area, but smooth in the center. I've tried everything I can think of on it and nothing seems to be helping it. I will make a dr appointment, one of these days, but was hoping maybe someone knew what it could be?

It's large, like about 2" x 3"

I've tried blue star ointment, gold bond, and numerous other products.

Have you tried icing it? Anti-itch creams such as Aveeno or other brands? Neosporin? (Which is usually for open cuts, but it may help kill whatever is bothering your skin.)

Where is it located? Have you changed detergents recently? Are you working out and perhaps not wearing the best breathable fabric? Has the area of the skin come in contact recently with any sort of new element, dust, plants, dirt, etc. that might cause it to react that way? Are you on any sort of medication?

When I worked at a bookstore my face broke out into a really terrible rash--it was because of all the dust. Thankfully it faded away, but people thought I had a sunburn or was running a fever. Think back and try to remember if you've been exposed to anything new or for an extended period of time.

If you're still concerned, see a doctor or dermatologist.

Good luck.

If it has been there for 3 months, than you should def. go see a dermatologist. Also, make sure you keep the area clean and cool, the heat also can spread the rash.

Girl, you need to get to the doctor. Is it possible you have ringworm? You need to go get checked.
