Yes, there are plenty of jobs in the Air Force that are available for color blind people. Of course pilot would not be one of them.

Sorry, but no. For starters, the economy is bad and the military is downsizing, which means prior service members are not being allowed to enlist on active duty with any branch of the service except under very rare circumstances. Secondly, the color-blindness issue is an automatic disqualifier for Special Forces.

Yes the USAF does accept those that are color blind. It does limit what jobs you can have, and they will try to put you into administrative positions, or linguist. It all depends on how well or badly you do on the color vision test. I went through Basic Training with a guy that was color blind, he was going to be financial, so they will let you in but your job just might not be the best one in the world.

For a pilot license in the US you must be able to distinguish the difference between aviation green and red. If you can distinguish colors, study the red and green and remember what color it looks like to you, and you can get a SODA(statement of demonstrated ability). If you cannot distinguish colors, you may be out of luck. During WWII the military specially recruited persons who were color blind to certain colors of green and brown, because they could spot camouflage nets that persons with normal vision could not.

If you want to still join the airforce there are other jobs offered. Such as, engineers, operators, stockers, gunmen, and so forth.

There are more jobs in the air force than pilots, so Iam sure there are some jobs available for color blind people.

Both of my brothers are color blind and are both in the air force.
One is a linguist the other in his last year working on computers.
I'd be happy to ask them if it was an issue that ever came up for them if you'd like, email me.

Yes. Less than .01% of Air Force personnel are pilots. You would be limited to jobs that do not require color vision.
