What can I do! and please no sarcastic or nasty answers as I need some advice and quick ( by the way I will be going to the docs first thing, but how can I go to the party without looking like the elephant man, cos it really is that bad!)

You may have an infection in the tear duct Tizzy and in which case your Dr will prescribe some anti-biotic drops for it. As for the party, nothing looks cooler than a pair of dark glasses and when people ask why you are wearing them, the attention and sympathy you will get will know no limits.

Going to a doctor is your first priority.

It may be either an infection or allergy. Again go to a doctor.

If it is an allergy the swelling will go down in a few hours.

Do not put any make up on it (unless doc says okay).

If you have a nurse line you can call phone them now. (they should be 24/7)

I am sure no one will mind about your eye (Quote -Those who matter don't mind, those who mind don't matter).

A warm flannel on the eye, and take a paracetamol. Go to the doctors, yeah. I wake up with a swollen eye sometimes (Although not as much as you) and it goes down after a couple of hours. Did you sleep in a different position?

Oh, poor thing. Glad you're getting it attended to asap. If you have any used tea bags place this on your eye - a hot cloth won't work to reduce swelling. You need cold to reduce swelling. Take a bag of peas from the freezer and cover them with a towel and put it over your eye. It will bring down some of the swelling.

good luck and have fun at the party!

So sorry to hear about your eye.
Anything hot near your eye will not cause the swelling to go down. The best bet is take a piece of red meat and place it on your eye.Swelling will decrease but do not keep it there for long periods as too much cold to the iris is not good.

I had this before and my doctor told me that I had food allergy, probably shell fish kind. The swollen is painful yet would affect your daily activity. You can use eye lotion to rinse through and wait for half a day. Eventually it would go off.

sounds like conjunctivitis, put a cold cloth over it to reduce the swelling, chances are the doc will give you an ointment or an eye bath, cant see the swelling going totally down by tonight but see what the doc says, can you not wear your hair so it covers your eye?

That sucks. Try warm water compress. If that doesn't work - try cool. That happened to me once. Maybe you should go to the doctor tonite instead of a party. Don't want to ruin your chances looking like a one eyed freak. lol

Erm, well i would consider maybe wearing some nice shades. Not obvious shades to show your hding something, but fashionable. Other than that, sorry, i can suggest anything.

It could be several things. It could be pink eye, an allergy or believe it or not it could be Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had the same thing happen to my eye and it turned out to be the Rheumatoid Arthritis. You would have to be on medication for that.
