originally the mpaa which rates all movies came up with the rating movies, G, PG, R, and X. for some reason they did not trademark the X rating. so pornographers began to say that the movie was so beyond X because of its explicitness. hence XXX.
this is why the mpaa no longer rates movies as X but rather NC-17.

Well my explanation would be the fact that with an x-ray u get to see everything so the term x-rated film would mean u see everything nothing is hidden so therefore XXX would be very see through, lol. Thats my thought anyway.

X comes from the last letter in SEX

Triple X means everything is shown to the extreme.

because its addicting don't get involved with it. it will lead to a life of misery and sadness. its rated that because its the last letter in sex and everything is to the X trem
