I had issues with cold hands after losing a great deal of weight - it has to do with circulation and body fat.
I wore some cheap gloves for a while and saw improvement after a few weeks...
Here's a link about circulation - there are some great tips on things you can do at home to help.

Some people just have cold hands and feet. In most cases, it means nothing. What I mean is, that it isn't a medical condition so can't be treated with anything.
However, the key question is what colour do your fingers go in the cold? If they go white, then this might be a problem called 'Raynaud's disease'. This is a condition where the blood vessels shut down because of the cold and there are some medicines which might help it. However, the main reason to know that it is 'Raynaud's' is that it is important to protect your fingers from the cold as the condition means that your body is not so good at protecting itself from cold damage.

If this is a new development for you, I'd encourage you to see your doctor to get it checked out. Raynaud's Syndrome is a disorder that causes extremely cold hands (and usually pain in the hands as well). You may also just have bad circulation in your hands, which is something you can inherit from your parents (all the women in my family have cold hands, for example).

Well What’s Causing Your Cold Hands?
Even though, common cold hand symptoms can be caused by numerous kinds of health problems, restricted or obstructed blood flow to the hands is the determining factor.
Everything from regular stress to a hyper reactive condition like Raynaud’s Syndrome can be what’s causing your hands to be cold. So you need to take positive step towards improving your circulation right down to the molecular level of your finger tips.
If you improve the micro-circulation in your hands then it will help. If you don’t take action to restore circulation then you can loose these minute but important ducts all together.
Of course, there’s lots of steps you can take to improve the vascular condition of your hands. And I’m sure you're aware of most of them; like changing your diet, exercising more and even practicing relaxation techniques. It’s also suggested you avoid caffeine (I’m afraid this is impossible for me) because it constricts blood vessels.

I have cold hands a lot too and hard to get them warm. I have nerve damage (PN for peripheral neuropathy) and think that is part of the reason. When my hands are very cold a lot of the time my feet are sweating. Could be poor circulation. If you are having regular medical care check with your doctor for the cold hands could be a symptom he needs to know of.

The poor circulation's been mentioned a lot, and it may well be just that, but I experience this coldness also in feet and in body in general even in the summer (down south where it's warm anyway) and you might have a borderline thyroid problem; check it out just to eliminate this as the cause.
Hope this helps.

I had ice cold hands after losing a bunch of weight too. I even worked in a steel foundry and they were cold. It wasn't a circulation problem or Raynaulds. I do wonder if it was from years of dieting as I was low in iron. Get your iron levels checked.
