Screwdrivers and spanners are separate implements...and there are different types of each one....

They call the hood of a car the bonnet and I think they call the trunk of a car the boot. I'm not real sure but I think they mean screw driver (the tool not the drink) or a crescent wrench when they say spanner.
The best way to learn British terms is to read books written by Brits. Those that haven't been "translated".

if you are an american coming here, dont use british words, it will make you look like a right prat, just speak like you normally would, but dont use words like 'oh my god gendlemen, that is so todaly ausome!!', it just send shivers down my spine
