I've recently found myself addicted to getting tattos. I've seen pictures of people with blacklight or UV tattoos, but none of them were african american. I was wondering would they show up under the blacklight on my skin before I go out and spend lots of money only to be let down in the end. I'm currently living in Washington State and would like any inout you may have Thanks, Matt

depends on your skin tone, if ur that blue black tone no it wont wheres if youre the light amber type then it will. its all about how the skin heals over it. the darker the skin the more difficult it is to see. the same as with lighter colours like white or yellow cannot be put on dark skin the transparency of the blacklight ink has the same problem.

However, you do realise the invisible ink is ONLY approved forscientific fish tracking??? The irradiated (yes thats exactly what it is) ink mollecules are encapsulated in a tiny plstic ball and suspended in liquid before being put under your skin. There are no long term tests to verify how long it takes for the plastic to be broken down, and if that happens the irradiated chemical will be released into your body. Its totally in the experimental stage and almost all reputable artists will not use it. Even the coloured ink is shied away from. Its also been known to cause reactions in more people than the regular inks.

It's harder to get ink into darker skinned people as far as getting the ink to show up so when doing the UV it would be just as hard to get the ink into your skin and get it to show. blacklight tattoos (UV) have been around for a while and back in the 90's I was going to do it however when talking it over with two of my tattoo artist they said the blacklight (UV) chemical can be hard on the skin, causes rashes, some say it's linked to cancer, depending on where you put it say on you back it's thicker skin than say your arm so it would be harder to put the ink in. like all tattoo ink it will start to fade sometimes at a faster rate. Darker skinned people are mostly recommended to stay with the general black/blue ink. If you're going to do it research it a lot first and talk to you artist about it. Good luck a lot of people wont do the UV light in WA
I dont know what part of WA you're in but here is a link to my old tattooers there http://www.primevalink.com/index.htm

Yes, it would show up on any skin tone. Go ask the tattoo place for their opinion as well.
