NASCAR is not a democracy. It is a dictatorship with the France family calling the shots. It is private enterprise and they run their business they way they want, and the way they can make the most money.

You can always start your own racing circuit. That's the beauty of this country. Bill France Sr. did it. So can you.

Um NO, It is called Free Enterprise, Check into it.

Besides Tons of Americans drive Toyotas and Toyotas are actually manufacted in the USA somewhere in the South. I really could careless what make of cars race in NASCAR. If the American manufactures would make a car as good as the foriegn ones, then maybe they would put the foriegn guys out of business.

If it bugs you so bad then you should start a boycott.

I really don't have a problem with Toyota in the Cup Series. Dodge is basically a German-owned company, and a large portion of Ford and Chevy's vehicles parts are manufactured in other countries anyway.

As long as the power brokers in the world can find a way to decrease expenses in order to maximize profits, they will do it.

As for the voting aspect...Remember Al Gore won the majority vote, and W still got elected. Voting is not the answer.

Because NASCAR is NOT ABOUT THE FANS ANYMORE!!!! NASCAR is a buisness..and, like any good buisness, it goes where the money is. Toyota has the money and Brian France blew the fans off and went where the money is. Hell..he even got one of the best spokesmen in NASCAR to do it..Michael Waltrip. Mickey could sell Icecream to eskimos in the middle of winter. And everyone bought it and even cheered it. So you just either have to deal with Brian ( screw the fans ) France and Toyota or watch another type of racing. Also...like I said its buisness and the only "voting" that goes on is in the board of directors meetings. They voted...Toyota won...their paychecks got bigger. Nuff Said

A precedent has already been set. Toyota isn't the first foreign car to race in NASCAR. A Porsche made the field of the Daytona 500 back in the 50's.

If you are bringing this up because Toyota is going the sport, please bear in mind that currently, the Toyota cars are the only ones actually manufactured in the United States and providing jobs for Americans. The other companies have moved manufacturing plants to Mexico and Canada for cheaper labor so before coming down hard on one company, find out who is actually creating jobs in this country first.

you can vote its easy just don't watch the races,

but as long as ratings stay hi and people buy the Pepsi cause Jeff Gordon is on the box nascar will keep doing what it feels is its best interest.

i say embrace it if you don't like Toyota root for them to loose

I think the main premise of your question is wrong. We do not vote on everything in the United States. When was the last time you voted on where the Superbowl was, where your neighbors could shop or whom could advertise on television?

Are you forgetting the 2000 election? We voted, and Bush did not win the popular vote, but he did win the electoral vote... so you see its a flawed system, but one that has worked as long as this country has been around...

Like I said before on this topic, where are you going to draw the line. Are we going to have the Gordon fans, and the Jr fans voting against each other to see who gets to race? What about future drivers with "questionable" last names? Are we going to vote and keep them out of the race since they are not "American" when in fact they could be just as much of an "American" as you are I. Are you going to ban all the Taco Bells because they are not American? Are you going to ban the BP gas station because its British? Should we ban Olive Garden because its not American? Should we ban foreign language classes? Come on!!!

What about their racing suits, or shoes, I bet there is a majority of them that are not made in the US, should we ban them from using those? What about the sponsors on the car who out-source their company overseas? Should we ban them?

What kind of TV do you have in your living room? How many shirts in your closet are foreign? For Christ sake! I dont understand why everyone is forgetting everything in our daily life that involves other countries besides the US.

Bottom line... where are you going to stop the voting? I am guessing you only vote in the presidential election, and you dont take part in the primaries, or your local elections...

Like I have said before, it's people like yourself that gives Nascar the "redneck" stereotype...

GO 24!
