Coffee was made this way for years. But boil the water before adding coffee. You need to strain the coffee out of the grounds tho.
One way is to break and stir an egg on the coffee. The egg will solidify and grab the floating grounds. You can pour the coffee and avoid pouring grounds.

if hot water & creamer is all you want to use then you need to buy instant coffee, ground coffee is when the beans are roasted & ground to a coarse powder, this does not dissolve in water but will impart its colour & flavour if seeped in hot water, you then need to strain this through a fine sieve or through muslin over a strainer,or filter paper, made for this purpose.the residue or coffee grounds are of no further use,but to enjoy a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee you will need to add hot milk, sweetner or sugar ,optional.

well if you boil water and add the grounds and then let it settle you can pour off a cup without too much sediment. or you can pick up a cheap drip pot and filters and not worry about the sediment. another idea is a french press you add coffee and boiling water.

You don't need a coffee pot, but it would probably be a lot easier. I suggest buying the folger's singles and using those like a tea bag.

Go to the store and get what's called a "French Press" coffee maker. It's easier and I think it tastes better.
