The ultimate myth. Read 'The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail'. By Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln. It's the book that the DaVinci Code is based on and it's the most entertaining piece of tosh and pseudo intellectual pretend history I've ever read. Not that I've ready any others, now I come to think of it. They try to convince you that the Holy Grail containing the blood of Christ was brought to England by Mary Magdalene and that the Knight Templar were keepers of the secret etc. etc. A fun romp if ever there was. The Wikipedia page is pretty thorough. Have fun.

There are no Knights Templar and there is no St Mary Magdalene.

because to them, she was the wife of Jesus, and the mother of his children. this was their belief that alienated them from the catholics.
