We have many packs of coyotes in the area where I live and they attack pets on a regular basis but keep their distance from humans. You should have stopped. If your kitten was in your care long enough to gain your trust, it may wait in the same spot until you go back. There is a chance it will have survived the night, but its chances beyond that are not great.

You'll simply have to go back and search.
Your kitten deserves at least that much effort.

There's always a chance; but I wouldn't be too optimistic. Any animal's - even a domestic cat's - survival instinct will kick in, in an unknown and uncertain situation. That means she's probably going to find someplace to hide, very quickly.

But PLEASE do go back and try to find her as soon as possible! Coyotes generally stay away from humans; but a kitten would be in enormous danger from them or any other predator. If she's still around, there's a chance that she would recognize your voice and come out of hiding. PLEASE don't give up until you've really tried!

Kittens are so vulnerable, you must give them lots of love and never open a window in the car when they are young.Where do you think the line about "Curious cats came from?" It comes from when they are Kittens and are really curious, you obviously do not understand kitties and their traits. You must learn though if you want to keep kitties.I have 9 cats and have raised them since they were kitties and I never have put them in a vehicle when they were real young.THINK!!!! Use your head, I hope you got your kitten back and learned a good lesson.

Are you serious? You drive around with your kitten in the car with the windows rolled down like its a full grown dog? Depending on how cold it gets at night there, there is a chance the kitten would be unable to withstand the cold all night.

Very slim. The kitten will try to find a hiding place and keep moving but if there are a lot of coyotes, they will likely get your kitten unless it runs up a tree. I can't believe you didn't stop!!!

Don't bother.. I think the kitten chose to live with the coyotes.. They'll enjoy listening to his story of how he managed to escape from a wolf's open car window.. Hey at least you still have your car.. For some people they make the perfect pets..

Thats a tough call to make. It could still be there or hiding in a near by area. But if there are a lot of coyotes around, I'd hate to say it but it could have been their lunch. Good luck!

My first dogs died as a effect of problems from a broken leg while she jumped from my grandfathers automobile. He had a habit of taking her to artwork with him so as that she might desire to run contained in the rustic. Grandpa worked as a highway shape superintendent. This were happening for years while, for some reason, the dogs in basic terms leaped contained in the path of the open window at highway velocity sooner or later. often, canines leap from autos at relax stops and pass darting out onto the line. the two way, the outcomes are the comparable; the dogs dies. MY question TO YOU IS ---------- how in Hades did your dogs survive hitting the pavement at 60 MPH ?! ?!

.......Highly unlikely. Why did you have the window down first off with a kitten in the car? That's a big duh.Second, why didn't you stop? There are coyotes...ok.We have those around here too and most people I know would stop. They are not very likely to attack especially when your right near a lighted up car.
