One of four children ate the last piece of lasagna. When questioned they responded as follows:
Joan: I didn't eat it.
Leo: Martha ate it
Ken: Leo ate it.
Martha: Leo is lying.

It's is definitely 'Leo' who ate the last piece and lied!
because Joan, Ken and Martha are telling the truth and Leo is the only child who lied... = )

Leo Lied.
If Joan lied, she would be admitting to guilt and hence the others would all be liars. Joan must be telling the truth.
If Ken lied, then Leo didn't eat it, thus making Martha a liar as well. Ken must be telling the truth.
If Martha lied, she would be admiting to guilt and then making Keno also a liar. Martha must be telling the truth.
Then you are left with Leo, the liar.
Don't trust Leo.

eplanation: it obviously can't be joan, because if she was lying, then leo and ken would be telling the truth, and that's contradictory. if you think that martha is lying, then leo and ken would still be contradictory. so, this means martha is telling the truth and leo is lying. that means that everyone else is telling the truth, which means leo committed both crimes.

Leo lied because he's blaming Martha.
Martha says he's lying, so she's telling the truth. Ken says Leo ate it, also true. And Joan says he didn't eat it, and we can conclude that it's true.

Leo is lying because.....this is gona b long one.
If Joan was lying...that means leo,ken and martha is lyin...and you said that only one child lied...so it isnt joan that lied. If Martha was lying that means that Ken would be lyin as wel...and its the same way backwards as in if Ken was lying then Martha was lying as well...so Leo was definitely lying...gud riddle man...really made me think...hehe
