Goto http://www.pdf995.com

Download the tool available in that website. Once you are done with that, open your word doc, and press Ctrl-P. This is the command to print. (You don't need to have a printer). When the dialog box pops up, choose the printer to be pdf995 in the drop down menu at the top. Then click on Print. It will ask for the file name which you want to save the pdf as.. give it and you are done.

hope this helped.

Dear
there are 2 methods
1) directly from word if the converters are available in your system
2) printing to a pdf printer

in the first case when you install software like Adobe Acrobat, Abby fine reader, Omnipage they automatically insert a button option for this purpose
in the second case Adobe Acrobat, Omnipage and some pdf converter software automatically install a printer driver to enable other applications to print to the pdf printer. this printers will be available in printers and fax section of start menu and also in print dialogues.

one of the best free pdf converter is available from

and you can also have a look at the followings

As luvabdam said, I use cutepdf in all my computers and it works amazingly well. Install it (it is small), go to printers folder and make it your default printer (if there are no other printers installed) and just print away..it will ask where you want to save, and just complete the dialogue. You dont have to be online or have to go through boring inkmarks or anything. I would not mind paying a little for this handy tool, but best of all, it is FREE and I dont have to...

you might be able to do it with adobe acrobat (not the free version). the free version only allows you to view the doc, you need the version that allows you to create documents
