Not exactly true. They don't recommend lifting heavy weight at younger age. You can still lift weight lighter weight lots of reps. for ex 3 sets of 10 - 15 reps at 50- 60 % max wt.

Running does not slow down growth. Running is great for you and it also helps to build strong bones, over all good health and weight loss.

I started lifting weights near my 15th birthday (not too far from your goal). I was 5'8 and 125 lbs. Now, I'm 19, and am 5'11 and 160 lbs. Muscle too, not fat. But growth spurts tend to affect people in varying degrees. You could keep growing, or you may have stopped outright, this varies. But should be okay as long as you watch what you eat and not take any special medications. Running will not adversely affect you unless you overwork yourself, in which case, teenagers have dropped dead from heart failure. Exercise and proper nutrition (and no narcotics use) are the key.

lifting weights at an early age does not stunt growth and there is no scientific data that says it does. it's nothing but an old wives tale.

I joined my first gym at 13 back in '81. if you are old enough to play contact sports you are old enough to strengthen your body to protect it from injury.

* this does not hold true for Pee Wee football players which is a waste of time

don't break up with him! you really love him and he really loves you. delete the file... some people are very cruel, it's not like YOU did it. i believe you have to so something very, and i mean VERRRYYY bad to go to hell. your age difference isn't bad at all!!! your teacher made you feel depressed because she made you feel like you were doing the wrong thing for being gay. don't believe it. i'm sorry if it feels like this is a bit controlling, too. Just do something relaxing and take a few deep breaths.
