Fanatics do nothing to further a good cause. PETA makes it so that all animal rights activists are viewed as lunatics, so that no ground is gained in the fight to legitimately protect animals.
According to it's own financial report, PETA is a multi-million dollar business, tax exempt. So, until people quit throwing money in their pockets, they will keep telling themselves they're doing a darned good job. It's us non-supporting animal hating meat eaters who are wrong.

PETA has done good work in the past, and they do stand for animal rights, however, the methods they use to get their point across, it's doing more harm than good. They do take everything to such an extreme, it's overcasting any good intentions they may have.
I personally have a big problem with their methods, and despise them for it. I also believe that by the way they approach animals situations, they're giving everybody else, that work in the same field, a bad reputation.
Just an example of some of the thing they do, and that I simply despise, is like the "chicken" campaign, where they spent millions to have demonstration all over the country, with members dressed up as chickens, to make their point. All that money could have been used in spaying and neutering thousands of animals, and provide public education in school etc. Another example, always about chickens ( don't get me wrong, i have nothing against chickens) about two years ago they had a TV commercial against chicken mills, the screen was divided in the middle, in one side it showed a bunch of chickens crowded in a mill, on the one it showed a bunch of people crowded in a concentration camp, at the bottom of the screen it said that the living conditions and treatment given were the same at both locations. Say what??????? My Grandfather was a prisoner of war (WWII) for seven long years, he was one of very few that made it out of it, he had to watch while the Nazis were making soap out the only brother he had. I listened to his screams, cries, and nightmares he had every night until he passed away at age 69. DO NOT compare a chicken mill to a concentration camp!!! I love animals, but do not compare the life of a chicken in a mill with the one of a prisoner of war in a concentration camp. Because of it, Peta lost any chance of getting any respect from me.
These were just two examples......they have done many, many more things that are simply wrong, to the point were people just don't take in consideration the good ones anymore, and because of it, the animals will continue to suffer.

I do not know much about PETA, but I do follow my heart and brain and they say no.
I feel that if you were really for the ethical treatment of animals you would be using funds to help shelters across the US, help educate people about animal rights, etc. Kind of like that campaign against smoking on TV, set it up to were you are teaching people.
They are very deceitful in what they're doing and a lot of their promotions are really bad. Having people pose naked in stores or in magazines and having people strip naked online. Taking off your clothes really does not get your message across, if you have to get your message across that way then you stoop to new lows.
PETA has been around for a long time but I feel that they are not making good strides to this date with their beliefs and standings. If they were than more people would be educated and you would seen them publically on how they're making a difference compared to privately (by going on their website).
In the end PETA has a good idea, but they exercise it through negative and insensative means.
I rather donate my money to my local animal shelter or providing them with items that they really need, because I know where my money is going and I know that they are trying to make a differece. As to PETA I do not know where my money is going, they're not making a difference in my book.

I love animals more than I like most people, so I think I can honestly say that PETA is NOT a great organization.
They don't do things for the good of the animals, they do things that THEY think are good for animals. Did you hear about Keiko, the whale in Free Willy? He was born and raised in captivity, but because of PETA, he had to be set free. He didn't know how to take care of himself and kept going to harbors so he could be with people. Unfortunately, he kept going to this place I think in Norway, where people hunt killer whales. I don't know what happened to him, but I know he was ill and at the same time in danger of being killed by whalers, and all because of PETA!!!!! Everytime I hear that word I get angry.

Not only no, but HELL NO!!!! They don't do animals any good with their dramatic attention seeking behavior, all they care about is headlines. They have ZERO credibility in the medical and political community. They are closed-minded fanatics. You can't reason with fanatics. Any time a person or organization believes their way is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, then everyone else is absolutely wrong in their eyes. This point of view makes it easy to do terrible things because "the cause is just".
Take this concept to the extreme and you get things like the Nazi party and 9/11. The mindset is the same.

After things that I have read and seen in the news, they sound quite wacky if you ask me! They tend to go way overboard and get quite melodramatic. I am a HUGE animal lover and advocate but PETA over does it if you ask me.

I believe that we should care for animals and treat them right, but PETAs are down right nuts. Because of their actions they have reduced their organization to a joke.

they are beyone downright scary. they are plain out nuts! they lie, kill animals and are in it for the money. they market young children with their adds, and steal money from true animal lovers with lies. here's a great website that explains the "true" peta......two of their members are on trial right now for taking dogs to their shelter to find a "good" home, and really they euthanized them immediatly in the van and threw the bodies in a grocery store dumpster.

I think that some of their ideals are good, but certainly not all of them. However, they are a radical activist group and I don't agree at all with how they attempt to "educate" the public. They're too much like the Earth Liberation Front for my liking!

I have no respect for PETA.
I love the HSUS. It's a great, determined, respectful organization that benefits both pets and owners.
