As an Atheist, Naturalist and believer in an intelligent spirit I would prefer the standards of morallity not to be the mandate of children ,sheep, and religious fanatics that can't control their own emotions or discern illusion. I think the legal system has proved that the mind should precede the emotions and illusion is not the basis of human rights . if you are insulted and think me a bigot get over it
I'm the voice of reason and reality in honest plain truth.

we atheists can lead a moral life without hypocrisy. unlike our religious neighbors.
religious mandates fused into our law system have made it weak.

and while we are on the topic, why are you religious people so hostile? live and let live people.

What's your point? That we all make up our own moral code? We all already do. Morals are passed down to an extent whether you like it or not. That's just human behavior. What you choose to do with them is ultimately your own choice. If you get your morals from religion and religion only, you've got some issues. Your brain and emotions tell you what's wrong or right, not a book or the threat of hell. A society has to have guidelines or guess what? They're not a society.

The voice of reason, eh?
How can children, sheep and religious fanatics possibly dictate your moral standards? Or are you equating morality, ethics and law? Are you saying that civil rights such as life, liberty and personal property are based on illusion? And how can you say that a legal system based on the Deist priniciples of the Enlightenment were created by religious fanatics? Is the social contract an illusion?

I would much prefer a world in which the people had morals because they understand WHY having them is beneficial as opposed to people who have morals because some guy said 2000+ years ago that is what "God" wants us to do.

Watch the Christians make references to satanism because you dared question their monopoly on morality.
