I have been doing photography as a hobby for 2 years now, and I have taken some very nice shots. I do landscapes, people, animals, nature, just about anything. And I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to get signed on with a Calendar co. or maybe even a Freelance photography co. Thank you!!

This is my business AND my life !!
If you are good enough to be published--you are good enough to reap the full benefits of your work.... And, if you go the route of dealing with a company that does that sort of thing-- you will have to work like the dickens to find someone within that business to give you some kind of chance---then, when you DO find that opportunity---you will have to take Very Little of the money in the deal !

My suggestion would be for you to go through some very hard work at the very beginning here AND find a really good program to do your OWN publishing--- create your OWN calendars and reap the full benefits of THAT !!
One great idea that worked for me in the past (I do mostly commercial work now within the fashion industry)----was taking shots of the local area that are the "highlight" points OF the area and putting together calendars for sales at area gift shops and soviener stores---worked like a dream for several years until I opened a studio and time got away from me !!!

Good luck with your work though---and WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF IMAGING PROFESSIONALS

Why not make your own? There are many companies that sell the blank calenders for you to fill. Look at all the ads in photo magazines, there are many different formats that you could use. Ever think about post cards? I work in Yosemite in the summer months as a driver/narrator. I have my camera with me where ever I go. Just sold some for post cards last year. It's a great feeling to see people buying your art. Several have asked me to autograph theirs for them, which I find kind of funny, because all I did was take a picture and had the sense to sell it. Whatever you do, good luck, and have fun. What's up with the thumb down? Shhheeeesh!!

Send in pictures into a photography magazine. Let people see your work and create a porfolio of your best pictures. Sometimes people will send you offers and stuff but you probably will have to find some publicior in your area. Look in your friendly yellow pages under photography I belive.

Just do it yourself. There are many programs out there that enable you to print your own work in calenders and all sorts of other media. Then sell them through a local business. Word of mouth can be everything in this business! Good luck!
