Hello, sadly my baby passed away about six months ago now. I am ready to get another one now, is there a rescue that isn't too expensive? Or does anyone know of a McCaw, preferably B&G who needs a new, wonderful home? I live in Alberta.

I know of a Greenwing baby that is for sale in Michigan, but I don't know of any rescue's around you. If this is your first Macaw (I don't know what species your last bird was) I probably wouldn't go for a rescue unless you are 190% committed to learning, understanding and working with the issues that bird has. Most of the time, when these guys end up in rescues, it's not because someone had a horrible health problem and had to get rid of the bird. It's because the owners of the parrot didn't know how to properly deal with the issues that they themselves created in their own bird.

Can I ask what happened to your previous bird and what kind of bird he was?

If you realy want to start from scratch, I'd tryu to get a new baby,
I'd buy from a closed Aviry breeder
